Girl Wearing a Bandana
"Girl Wearing a Bandana" 12in x 16in Pastel on Board. This piece is a pastel portrait that was originally painted at an open figure session held at the Palette and Chisel in Chicago, IL. The model posed for 5 hours for the group and I created this portrait of her using soft pastels, a bristle paintbrush, some water, on a hard board made specifically for soft pastels. The pastel painting depicts a beautiful girl on contrasting warm and cool highlights. The colors from the background complement the tones used in her flesh, and bright punctuations of color a scattered in her lips, bandana and reflected highlights in her jaw. Violets and blues dance around the mid tones and shadows and also render the iris and whites of her eyes. The original is framed under glass in a matching frame. The prints do not come framed.
